Discovery Homeschool Academy (DHA) will be starting its 21st year. There are approximately 350 students and 25 Teachers.
DHA is offering two great options for the 2021-22 school year:
DHA Enrichment Program offers Pre-k to 10th grade students creatively challenged, hands-on activities. Brain based research shows that students learn and retain information best when using all their senses. They enjoy singing songs, playing games, participating in experiments, creating beautiful art, computer projects and actively moving through the day. All this active energy is creatively channeled while the students are learning grade level standards that are age appropriate.. For more details Click Here.
DHA Academic Program is a weekly 2-day program that employs certified Christian teachers who will work with students on Mondays and Wednesdays from mid-August to May. They will also provide student assignments that are to be completed on Thursday and Friday weekly at home. Kindergarten through 8th grade students will work on core subjects and a brain break with a PE class. Parents partner with the certified teacher, but are the primary teacher and will determine the final grades for students. For more details Click Here.
THE BRIDGE High School Academic Program offers classes to 9th and 10th graders. Students attend school, under the direction of certified teachers or those with degrees in their field, on Mondays and Wednesdays. They will receive guidance, accountability, and support from these teachers. They also have the opportunity to do presentations and work in partners and small groups with their peers. Then on Thursdays and Fridays, they complete "heavy homework" assigned from their teacher at home. High school students in The Bridge program will spend their Mondays and Wednesdays with peers focusing on upper level math (Algebra 1 or Algebra 2), World History, science (Chemistry) and ELA (9th or 10th grade level). This year we are happy to announce that we will be able to offer a la carte classes if families need this option. Tuition for The Bride program is $315 per month, and the students can take a la carte classes for $120 per month, per class. We love partnering with parents during these important years!
Our partnership with Metropolitan Community College prepares them for a successful transition to college. MCC Admissions Counselors are able to prepare students for a successful transition to college level classes. A plan is provided with the option for high school students to complete their high school diploma at the same time they pursue their 2 year Associate's degree. All this happens at a half price tuition rate through MCC.
